Jankewitz Sent Off 79 Seconds in 1st Southampton Start

Southampton midfielder Alex Jankewitz was sent off just 79 seconds into his first ever start for the club, after his challenge on Manchester United’s Scott McTominay.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have been hit with a bit of an injury crisis recently, leading the Saints boss to struggle with team selection for their trip to Old Trafford.

The south coast side had two goalkeepers on the benchm to really punctuate their issues, and 19-year-old Jankewitz was making his first start.

The Swiss midfielder only made his Premier League debut as a substitute on January 30th against Aston Villa, playing the final minute of normal time and injury time.
