Jigawa Stars ready for Abia Warriors, says Gidado

Jigawa Golden Stars teenager Mohammed Gidado said his side is well prepared for today’s clash against Abia Warriors in the Matchday four of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

Jigawa Golden Stars suffered a shock home defeat against Rangers International on Sunday in their adopted home ground in Kaduna as Flying Antelopes snatched the victory with Israel Abia’s lone goal.

But the 16-year old star said that the team has put the defeat behind them and looking forward to a favourable result away to Abia Warriors in Umuahia.

The attacking midfielder stressed that the improvement in the standard of officiating in the league has given all teams confidence that they can win matches at any grounds.

“We lost our home match against Enugu Rangers on Sunday and I felt so bad but if we can lose at home, we can also win away match too. The Nigerian league is now better than what it used to be, so we can win anywhere without fear,” Gidado said.
