Jinx breaker Messi begins three weeks’ vacation

Highly elated jinx breaker and Copa America winner Lionel Messi has started a three weeks’ vacation with his family barely 48 hours after delivering the trophy to his countrymen.

The Argentina Captain whose contract with Barcelona has expired is proceeding on vacation for the first time as a free agent and with his future still unresolved.

Messi according to Mundo Deportivo, will go on a three-week break, but is officially a free agent following the expiration of his Barcelona contract.

His deal with the blaugrana ended on June 30th, and despite will on both sides to renew the strict salary cap mandated by La Liga has made finding a resolution tough. Negotiations are still ongoing, but an announcement doesn’t seem as imminent as it did just a few weeks ago.

Barcelona, led by Joan Laporta, are doing everything they can to reduce their wage-bill and meet the cap. This means shifting as much deadwood as possible and moving on high-earners.

Messi will no doubt enjoy his holiday to the fullest after achieving one of the most elusive titles in his career claiming international trophy in the colours of Argentina.

While the discuss over his club future continues, some say he equally stands a chance of making a huge impact at the World Cup next year in Qatar.
