Joshua is not a superstar– Fury

Tyson Fury has responded to Anthony Joshua‘s challenge claiming “there can only be one” champion.

The Brit added the WBO title to his IBF, IBO and WBA straps after being taken all the way by Joseph Parker and needing a unanimous points decision to keep his unbeaten run intact.

The only belt remaining is Deontay Wilder’s WBC strap and when asked who he wanted next after dispatching Parker, Joshua admitted he had his eye on becoming the undisputed champion – but would still like a domestic superclash with Fury next.

“I want Wilder,” he said in the immediate aftermath. “Or Fury. Get him [Wilder] in the ring and I’ll knock him spark out. Wilder, let’s go baby!

“IBO, WBO, WBA, IBF. I’m not into the hype, let’s get the business done. Let’s see what the future holds, I’m down for whatever, whenever.”

Fury, who is working his way into shape after two-and-a-half years out of the ring, took to Instagram during the fight before posting an image of him with all four belts following his win over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015.

“Just watching these two and I’m telling you they’re a pair of wooden tops. They’re not even good enough to be my sparring partners, the pair of them. They’re a pair of bums. No panache, no flair, no show. Waste of money,” he said in videos which appear to have now been deleted.

“There’s only one Tyson Fury for a reason. This is Mac year 2018, they’re a pack of bums. Parker is what Parker is – he’s a young lad trying. AJ’s a wooden top – he ain’t no superstar, I am the man.”

Fury added: “I could beat AJ in my comeback, treble a jab up, swing the right hand up, downstairs, upstairs, ain’t good enough to be a sparring partner. That was a s**t fight, a s**t performance by both fighters.

“Listen AJ, please don’t fight Wilder because he’ll knock you spark out and take my £50million. Let me break you and your little bum.”

While Fury is still getting back into shape and would almost certainly require a tune-up fight or two before Joshua, Wilder has repeatedly called out his heavyweight rival, although promoter Eddie Heard admitted there has been no contact from the Bronze Bomber’s camp.

“It’s realistic from our side. Deontay was supposed to be here tonight, but he’s not,” Hearn said. “Let’s show Deontay what 80,000 [people] sound like.

“They don’t want it. He wins all the belts. At 22 fights he has the chance to take them all.”
