Joshua to earn £18m against Ruiz

Anthony Joshua is set to earn a whooping £18 million from his fight against Andy Ruiz scheduled for tonight at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

He would also earn more from his broadcasting deals with DAZN, Sky Sports and gate takings.

Starting from a humble, beginning, which saw him earn £15,000 for his professional debut against Emanuele Leo at The O2 in October 2013, Joshua has risen to become one of Britain’s best-paid sportsmen.

The 29-year-old first hit the eight figure mark against Wladimir Klitschko in front of a UK post-war record 90,000 crowd at Wembley in April 2017 which fetched him £10 million for victory.

Against opponent Carlos Takam, Joshua received £12 million before receiving £14 million for his unification fight against Joseph Parker in March 2018.
