Promoter for Anthony Joshua, Eddie Hearn, has revealed that progress has been made over a potential world title fight between his client and American Deontay Wilder.

Joshua, the current IBF, IBO, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion is set to appear at Wembley Stadium again next April, however, his opponent is still unknown.

Wilder on the other hand, currently holds the WBC belt and is preparing to take on Tyson Fury in December, which could set up a mega fight with Joshua next year.

The pair were in talks over a fight in the summer, however, negotiations broke down, with both parties having numerous words for each other since.

However, Hearn has now revealed that he has been in contact with a member of Wilder’s team, admitting that he would like to be in a position in two months time for the deal to be almost done.

I’m not saying it’s done, but we made progress because we had a conversation.

I want to be in a position where, by December 1, we are done or almost done. We just have to watch the fight and sign the deal after. There’s still a lot of work to do, but at least there’s conversation and at least we are discussing the deal points. I think everyone wants the fight.
