Ajayi who joined Al Ahly in 2016 from Tunisian side CS Sfaxien already has Champions league title won in the 2019–20 season in the kitty and will be making it a double should nine-time winners realise their dream of clinching the tenth title at the expense of the South Africa side which has Super Eagles goalie Daniel Akpeyi on parade.

Al Ahly Pitso Mosimane while naming his squad for the final showdown said he is determined to help the Egyptian side pocket a 10th title.
