JUST IN: Amuneke Unhappy after Tanzania AFCON Loss to Senegal

Tanzania’s first match has ended with a 0-2 loss to Senegal on Sunday at the ongoing African cup of Nations champions in Egypt.

And the result has left the Nigerian Tanzania’s coach Emmanuel Amuneke uncomfortable but hopeful heading forward in their group which also consist of tournament favourites of Kenya, and Algeria.

Two goals – one in each half – ensured that Aliou Cisse’s charges secured the three points. The goals were scored by Balde (28’) and a screamer by Diatta (65’) despite not parading Liverpool Sadio Mane in the Cairo match.

Recall  the 27-year-old forward was served a one-match ban after being yellow-carded twice during the qualifiers for the biennial showcase of African football.

Diatta was named man of the match in a game that analysts say underlines the potential of the Senegalese team as potential contenders for the trophy.

It was a game with two African coaches, Senegal’s Cisse and Tanzania’s Emmanuel Amuneke but at the end of proceedings, it was Cisse who took home the three points.
