JUST-IN: David Alaba spotted in Madrid, signing imminent

Real Madrid have the deal for David Alaba all tied up. His signing is about to be made official, something which was partly given away by the player himself, as has been looking for a house in the outskirts of Madrid this Wednesday.

According to ‘GOL’, the Bayern defender was even in Valdebebas – Real Madrid’s sporting city – on the same day he was house-hunting in the Spanish capital alongside his agents, looking ahead to next season.

After Modric’s contract renewal, ‘Los Blancos’ want to get their signings up and running. Alaba’s signature will serve to make a bit of a statement in the market, as well as reinforcing a position which has given the side many headaches this season, due to the amount of injuries suffered there.

Alaba announced months ago that he would leave Bayern at the end of the season. He said an emotional goodbye to the club in their last match of the season against Augsburg, however he had been keeping his next destination a secret until a few weeks back. The still Bayern Munich player will leave the side when the season finishes on 30th June. From 1st July he will then be a new Real Madrid player, although the club could make the signing official even earlier.

As he is still waiting on veteran Sergio Ramos to make a decision, manager Zinedine Zidane – whose future is up in the air itself – will have Militao, Nacho, Varane and Alaba as his centre-backs for next season. A real coup d’etat in Valdebebas.
