Juve fan makes Ronaldo death wish to help forward get more goals

A rather unusual request was made on the funeral notice of a passionate Juventus supporter following his death at the age of 77 this week.

Mario Stefanini was a lifelong fan of the Turin-based club, who recently signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid for £105million.

Stefanini got the chance to see Ronaldo in action following his arrival in the summer, and noticed that the Portuguese was struggling to find the back of the net.

Ronaldo appears to be over the worst of his goal drought having netted an impressive six goals in his last seven appearances in all competitions for the Old Lady.

But it seems Stefanini wasn’t prepared to take any chances and made a humorous request to his loved ones in his funeral notes.

It is custom for people to bring flowers to a funeral, but usually the family of the deceased will request mourners donate the money they would spend on plants to a particular charity instead.

This is to prevent groups of people all turning up to a church or graveyard carrying flowers.

In Stefanini’s case, he requested that his friends and family not purchase flowers but instead “send CR7 goals”. And well, it seems to have worked!

Juventus were beaten by Manchester United last time out in the Champions League, but responded with a 2-0 win over AC Milan in Serie A.

Despite their defeat in Europe, Massimiliano Allegri’s side are still expected to finish top of their group and qualify for the knockout stages of the competition.
