Juventus eager to bring €30mMagalhaes to Italy

Juventus are interested in bringing Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes to Serie A this summer, according to latest reports in Italy.

The centre-back was a regular in Mikel Arteta’s side last season and was one of their most consistent performers, scoring five Premier League goals in the process.

Despite the return of William Saliba from a loan deal at Marseille, and the potential addition of another centre-back in the form of Lisandro Martinez, it seems unlikely that the Gunners would be open to selling Gabriel this summer.

However, Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Sport Witness) reckons Juventus are interested as they look to scour the ‘foreign market’ for replacements for De Ligt, who could leave the club this summer.

A report earlier this week claimed that Chelsea’s negotiations with Juventus are ‘progressing’ over a deal for De Ligt with the Serie A giants lowering ‘their demands in recent days’.

The Blues are keen to get a couple of centre-backs into the club after losing Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen on free transfers this summer.

It is understood that Juventus have been asking for De Ligt’s £102m release clause to be triggered to do a deal, while Chelsea have apparently attempted to include players as part of a deal.

And with Juventus looking to line up a replacement. Gazzetta Dello Sport insist that the Old Lady find Gabriel’s profile ‘convincing’ and reckon they could get a deal done with Arsenal for ‘around €30m (£26m)’.
