Juventus eyeing Guardiola to replace Sarri after Verona defeat

After the 2-1 loss to Hellas Verona, reports emerged claiming that Juventus are unconvinced by Maurizio Sarri and are already looking to replace the Italian boss. First, Allegri was linked with a return but according to the Sun, the Serie A giants have their eyes on Pep Guardiola.

Links between the Spanish tactician and the Old Lady are nothing new. Prior to appointing Sarri as the successor to Allegri, the Italian giants were rumored to be interested in Pep, with club president Andrea Agnelli being a huge admirer of the Man City boss.

The Citizens’ boss has been linked with an Etihad Stadium exit due to the club’s struggles this season but Guardiola has stated on several occasions that he has no desire to leave the Premier League giants. Despite this, a recent comment made by the tactician has given Juventus hope.

The 49-year-old recently admitted that the English giants are “big enough and good enough” to attract the best without him. Furthermore, Guardiola is yet to sign a new contract, which means the door remains open to the exit rumors.

According to the Sun, Juventus will offer Pep the opportunity to name his terms should he arrive in Turin. The goal for the Old Lady is simple: they want to conquer Europe and they firmly believe the former Barca and Bayern Munich boss is the man to do it, despite his shortcomings in the Champions League as of late.

Regardless, there is little to suggest Guardiola wants out of the Etihad Stadium. While Man City are yet to tie him down with an extension, the club do not believe he will bid farewell to Manchester this summer.
