Juventus injury crisis continues ahead of Spezia clash

Juventus’ injury crisis continues and Andrea Pirlo could start Nicolò Fagioli or Aaron Ramsey against Spezia Tuesday.

Fagioli, 21, made his senior Juventus debut in a Coppa Italia tie against SPAL in February. His Serie A debut came shortly after, in a Serie A clash against Crotone.

According to Sky Sport, Fagioli could start against Spezia tomorrow, despite being not 100% fit.

“Fagioli had an intestinal problem, let’s hope he’ll be better tomorrow,” Pirlo said at a press conference today.

While Rodrigo Bentancur and Adrien Rabiot are expected to start in the middle of the pitch, one between Fagioli, Aaron Ramsey and Weston McKennie will get the last starting spot in midfield.

The former Schalke man “needs a little rest,” said Pirlo and could start on the bench.

The Juventus tactician must do without the injured Arthur whose recovery time remains uncertain.

The former Barcelona midfielder is one of the six Juventus players out of action. Paulo Dybala, Giorgio Chiellini, Juan Cuadrado, Leonardo Bonucci and Alvaro Morata are all expected to be ruled out.

The Spaniard could recover from a form of stomach flu and start on the bench.

Juventus play the next three games at home. They host Spezia on Tuesday, Lazio on Saturday and face Porto in the second leg of the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday, March 9.
