Juventus striker Chiesa named Italy’s 2021 Player of the Year

Juventus striker Fede Chiesa has been named Italy’s 2021 Player of the Year.

Italian fans were given a shortlist and over 8,000 votes came into the official Italian Football Federation (FIGC) website from December 14 to 30.

Chiesa emerged as the winner with 46 percent of the vote, beating Inter Milan midfielder Nicolò Barella on 20 percent and Roma full-back Leonardo Spinazzola with 14 percent.

The other names on the shortlist were Gianluigi Donnarumma and Lorenzo Insigne.
