Juventus threatening Andrea Pirlo with sack

There are growing reports that Juventus will sack Andrea Pirlo if the Bianconeri lose against Napoli on Wednesday.

The Bianconeri and the Azzurri play the reverse fixture from matchday 3 on Wednesday.

The game was rescheduled after Napoli failed to travel to Turin in October as they had two players positive for COVID.

They were initially handed a 3-0 defeat and docked a point, but the CONI Collegio di Garanzia ruled to reschedule the match.

According to Il Corriere della Sera, the game could be decisive for Pirlo’s future. The Old Lady could decide to sack their coach if they lose against Gennaro Gattuso’s side.

Juventus sit fourth in the Serie A table, level with Napoli.

Sport Mediaset reports Pirlo will surely face sacking in case of defeat against the Azzurri.

His assistant Igor Tudor could then replace him as an interim coach until the end of the season, even if Juventus’ former coach Max Allegri remains in the frame.

Allegri reportedly met Juventus President Andrea Agnelli in Forte dei Marmi last week-end.
