Juventus tip Arsenal star to succeed Ronaldo

Arsenal forward, Folarin Balogun, has emerged as a target for Juventus while his contract runs down, according to reports.

As things stand, Balogun is set to become a free agent in the summer. His contract expires at the end of the season and there has been little progress over a renewal.

Arsenal would certainly like him to stay, but the power is with the player in this instance. If he does not agree on new terms, the Gunners will lose him for free.

Mikel Arteta believes Balogun wants to stay at the Emirates Stadium but is unsure that his agent reciprocates that feeling. Therefore, the teenager is yet to sign up.

There were rumours that Balogun had already agreed to join RB Leipzig for next season. However, Arteta denied that was the case.

Even so, he may be about to lose the young attacker. According to Don Balon, Juventus now want to sign Balogun.

The Serie A champions are looking for a strike partner for Cristiano Ronaldo who can then succeed the Portuguese legend in the long-term.

That would place immense pressure on Balogun’s shoulders, but the Turin outfit believe he is capable of shining in Serie A.

The 19-year-old has scored two goals in this season’s Europa League, despite being yet to start a match. Possibly signing him without a transfer fee is seen as a “golden opportunity” for Juventus.

Therefore, they are willing to offer him a five-year contract. If he wants, Balogun could even sign a pre-contract agreement with Juventus now.
