Kai Havertz nears Chelsea switch after midfielder ‘completes medical’
Kai Havertz’s Chelsea transfer appears to have moved another step closer after the midfielder reportedly completed a medical with Frank Lampard’s side.
The 21-year-old looks set to complete his move from Bayer Leverkusen in the coming days, according to the latest report from Germany.
Havertz is understood to have agreed terms on a five-year deal with Chelsea, who are set to sign him for £72million plus add-ons which could eventually take the fee up to a British record £90m.
And one more stage of the hotly anticipated transfer has been completed after the Germany international passed a medical, according to Bild.
The German publication, cited by Mail Online, reports that all the formalities are now complete after he passed all medical tests on Sunday, leaving the way clear for Chelsea to announce their marquee signing.

Havertz will follow fellow Germany attacker Timo Werner in joining Lampard’s side, after the striker switched from RB Leipzig earlier this summer.
Chelsea have also signed winger Hakim Ziyech from Ajax, left-back Ben Chilwell from Leicester, and centre-half Malang Sarr from Nice.
And Thiago Silva joined on a free transfer after the central defender’s contract at Paris-Saint Germain expired.
