Bordeaux Coach Paulo Sousa was forced to thrown in Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu and compatriot Josh Maja in quick secession in their match against Lille on Saturday but it did not stop Lille from sealing a 3-0 victory.
Nigeria international and Lille forward Victor Osimhen was in action for 58 minutes before he was replaced by home boy Loic Remmy.
Lille shot into the lead in the 22nd minute of the match through Benjamin Andre, and Yusuf Yazıcı converted a penalty for the homers just four minutes after Osimhen exit.
Apparently determined to remedy the situation Boardeaux coach Paulo Sousa introduced both Kalu and Maja in the 64th and 74th minutes respectively in the hope that their entry will change the rhythm and perhaps stop Lille’s incursion, but that was not be as Lille did not only maintain the tempo but added a third goal within a minute of added time thanks to Remmy who had replaced Osimhen in the 58th minute of the match.
Interestingly Lille are picking their first victory in their last six matches.Prior to Saturday’s victory Osimhen and his teammates had three draws and two defeats including 2-1 loss to Toulose in the Ligue 1 and 2-1 loss to Chelsea in the Champions league.
It was the second defeat for Bordeaux in a roll, coming on the heels of a lone goal defeat to Saint-Etienne.
