Kanu: Eagles need right attitude against South Africa

Ex-Super Eagles skipper, Kanu Nwankwo has charged the Nigerian team to show the right attitude and be convinced they can do it if they are to beat South Africa on Wednesday in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter final tie in Cairo, Egypt.

Nigeria overpowered the reigning champions, Cameroon 3-2 at the Alexandria Stadium on Saturday while the Bafana Bafana shocked the hosts, Egypt 1-0 in the other second round clash played at the Cairo International Stadium same day.
Kanu who witnessed the Eagles encounter in Alexandria disclosed that the Nigerian team is still lacking in confidence and that they must play like a champion if they must fly past South Africa.
“The Eagles won and we are extremely happy but it was a win we had to labour for,” Kanu told SportingLife.
“There was a time in the game that they played very well and on so many occasions they became jittery and conceded goals at the time. They must have a good attitude and have the belief mentality.
