Koeman praising Zlatan to the heavens

Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman, has raised a voice in praising Zlatan Ibrahimovic, saying that the player deserves all the emulations.

The Dutch tactician spoke at a press conference ahead of Barcelona’s Copa del Rey semi-final first-leg clash with Sevilla.

Koeman was asked his thoughts on Zlatan Ibrahimovic who netted his 500th and 501st club goal last week.

“I am not surprised, I worked with him at Ajax and his qualities were clear already,” the Barcelona coach said.

“He’s proved to be one of the best strikers out there, despite his age, he is still really good. He has a winning mentality and it’s great to see him doing all these things with so many different clubs.

“He deserves everything.”

Koeman also hit back at former Roma boss Rudi Garcia, who is currently at Lyon.

“I have read that Ronald Koeman was a bit offended that PSG spoke about Leo Messi before the Champions League tie between PSG and Barcelona,” Garcia had told BeIn Sports.

“He was not shy in talking about Memphis Depay even after the transfer market closed. I call that: it never rains but it pours.”

“If they want to talk about Leo let them do it, but now the coach of Lyoncomes out, it seems he wants to have more prominence in the press,” Koeman replied.

“For me, it’s not important.”
