Koeman: Why I clashed with Juventus bench

Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman, has explained his bust-up with the Juventus defeat during Tuesday’s Champions League defeat.

After Clement Lenglet was penalised for a handball, the Juve substitutes were not just happy with VAR leading to a penalty, they also wanted a second yellow card for the defender. That did not go down well with Koeman.

The Dutchman was angry with their protests, which he thought were out of place, and clashed with the Juve bench. Television images showed Paulo Dybala mocking him with the backing of his teammates.

At the end of the coming together, Koeman returned to his technical area to see Cristiano Ronaldo score his second of the game and make it 3-0 to Juve.

Speaking after the match, the Barça coach said: “They were asking for cards, asking for a card for Lenglet. That’s not clean, to ask for cards. That’s not part of my football philosophy.”
