The Vice President of Nigeria Cricket Federation Uyi Akpata has thumbed up the performance of the lady cricketers in the ongoing National Sports Festival tagging them the revelation of the Festival.
The Cricket Federation chieftain told Nation Sports that all the six teams that represented six states at the Festival have shown significant improvement in their techniques and performances.
“The ladies are playing significantly very well and I think that is one of the revelations of this sports festival. Across board, the six teams are showing significant improvement when it comes to techniques and everything.
“But one of the most fundamental achievement for us frankly at the end of the day we have a standard Oval that compares favourably with any globally.
“For the first time we are playing in what we call soft wickets here, and hopefully in February or so we will start the second pitch. It gives us a platform to be able to invite any National team here. Nigeria can now be a destination for important cricket”, Akpata disclosed.
