Scouts from the Lagos State Basketball Association (LSBA) have confirmed that they will be present to identify talents at the grand finale of the 2017/2018 season of the Doregos Inter-school tournament holding on Thursday February 8 in Lagos.
According to the organizers of the championship, schools within Lagos and Ogun States took part in the tournament, with Airforce College, Ikeja slugging it out against defending champion – Avicenna in the boys’ final.
Aviceena will be playing in their second consecutive final after working hard to edge out Command Secondary School 28-24 in the semifinal encounter, while Airforce had an easy win over Effortswill to book their place in the final.
Airforce will be aiming to avoid what befell them last season after they lost narrowly to Avicenna in the final.
In the girls’ final, Avicenna will be aiming to take after their male counterpart as they battle Corona girls in the final match.
To add glamour, this year’s final will witness a novelty match between the host school – Doregos against a selected all-stars holding after the third place matches.
The third place matches will see Dansol taking on Phidel College as they hope to salvage some pride while the boys’ third place will see Effortswill confronting Command Secondary School.
The finalists in this year’s tournament will represent Lagos at the Southwest regional championship holding later in the year in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
