Lagos holds UFAK Zone 3 karate Championships

The President of Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN), His Excellency Silas Ali Agara, has stated that Karate is gradually gaining grounds in sports development in the country.

Agara,, who spoke to Sportinglife.ng in Abuja after the Full Concil Meeting of the federation revealed that the sport is now in 25 states of the fedederation including the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) adopting the game in their sports calendar.

“Our target is to win gold in the next All Africa Games. We are also working very hard to be at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The Federation will establish independent world standard secretariat towards raising international awareness for the sport in the country,” Agara Said.

Agara applauded the hosting rights for the UFAK Zone 3 Championships holding 10 – 15th May 2019 in Lagos.

The President also disclosed that the federation came up with the Constsitution Review Committee which was made up of eminent personalities and headed by Shihan James Aina with the made to fashion out modalities for drafting constitution for the federation.
