Lagos State plans to refurbish Teslim Balogun Stadium

Lagos State government is working round the clock to make Teslim Balogun Stadium more attractive in line with international standards soon.

The State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, revealed this on Saturday when Nigeria’s Super Eagles posted a 2-0 victory over Liberia in the World Cup qualifier.

According to the governor, the facelift project would to be completed by February 2022.

Prior to the kickoff of the game on Saturday, there was a downpour that lasted for hours, leaving parts of the pitch waterlogged, thus preventing easy movement of the ball.

Speaking to reporters, Sanwo-Olu said Lagos would continue to do everything to make the state the home of the national teams, and pledged that the stadium would be covered up.

“I can tell you that there is no better home for the Super Eagles and we are actually improving sports in Lagos. We are building 10 mini stadia concurrently as we go and in the next six months, this (Teslim Balogun) stadium would have been covered up.
