LaLiga: Karim Benzema ‘very proud’ being named Real Madrid’s Player of the Season

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema has been named the club’s Player of the Season.

Benzema, who scooped the Pichichi Trophy as the Madridistas stormed to a 35th LaLiga title, has hit 44 goals in 45 games this season and was grateful to be presented with the prize.

“I’m very proud. It’s been a really great season for me in terms of goals, assists and trophies and I feel really happy,” he said.

“The key against Liverpool is to go out to win the game. It’s a final against a very strong team but we are full of confidence because we’re a really good side as well.

“We have to focus on our game and play as a unit, backed by our fans. We have loads of belief going into the game and we’re going to show that out on the pitch.”
