Lanreleke Sports Academy Begins Screening of Students For Admission

The newly established co-educational, fully residential and specialist Senior Secondary School, Lanreleke Sports Academy (LSA) in Ileogbo, Osun State will begin the screening and selection of its pioneer set of students on the 24th of August, 2021.

40 students(30 boys, 10 girls), all to enjoy full scholarship are to be selected as the pioneer group for the Academy which will begin academic work in October 2021.

These students are not to be above 14 years of age by October 1, 2021. They must also have the minimum educational qualification of the Junior Secondary School Certificate(Junior WAEC) or have obtained their first and second term JSS 3 results, alongside possessing special abilities to do sports, excelling in at least one of football, basketball, athletics and Tennis.

According to the Administrator of the Lanreleke Sports Academy(LSA), Mr Chike Egbunu, the screening and selection of students will take place in venues across five States in Nigeria.

The venues and dates are Hussey College Warri in Delta State on August 24, University of Benin Sports Complex, Benin in Edo State on August 25, Campos Ground, Lagos Island in Lagos on August 30, University of Ibadan Sports Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State on September 1 and the Obafemi Awolowo University Sports Centre, Ife in Osun State on September 7, 2021.

He also revealed that respected Nigerian football legend Chief Segun Odegbami, another former Nigerian international Mutiu Adepoju, the School Administrator Mr Chike Egbunu and top broadcast journalist Toyin Ibitoye are in the LSA screening and selection Committee.

The screening and selection exercise will be done in collaboration with officials of the National Schools Sports Federation(NSSF) in the catchment States.

Successful students picked from these screening and selection exercises will be required to have the consent of their parents for their admission to be confirmed by the Academy.
