Late Arrival: No fine for Mikel, Moses – Rohr

Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has dismissed reports suggesting that the players who are still expected would be sanctioned.
There were speculations that Rohr was going to wield the big stick on his captain Mikel Obi for not leading by example likewise John Ogu and Victor Moses.
This was however played down by the team’s Media Officer Toyin Ibitoye who told Sportinglife.ng on Wednesday that there were no such plans.
“There is no deadline here in camp. These are professionals who know what is at stake. If they have not arrived, it does not mean they are taking things for granted. I am very sure they have been communication with the head coach,” Ibitoye told Sportinglife.ng.
After clearing the air, Ibitoye had no information on when  the players would arrive.  “We should expect them latest Thursday,”” he said.
Rohr expects all the players in camp before the team travel to Portharcourt on Saturday for the Congo DR friendly on May 28.
While Moses has been excused after featuring in the English FA Cup final last Saturday, Mikel is expected to feature.
Of the 30 players invited, 27  have reported to the team’s camp in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.
