LAURENT KOSCIELNY: Iwobi is strong, quick

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi has been described as an integral part of Arsenal FC of London’s campaign this season only if he braces to the challenge and exhibit his traits of being strong physically, quick, good technically with good movement on and off the ball on the pitch.

Disclosing this in London on Monday, Gunners captain Laurent Koscielny said:“He has huge potential and he needs to realise how good he could become. Right now, he is definitely on the right path to do just that. He is working hard at training and his confidence is high since Unai Emery arrived.”

Koscielny told the club’s official matchday programme: “If you look at him he has everything. He is strong physically, quick, good technically and his movement is good. He needs to be more efficient and clinical so he scores and assists more. He is very receptive and listen to advice so I have no doubt that he will continue his progression.”

Iwobi played as a late substitute for Arsenal in Sunday’s 2-0 home victory over Everton to mantain Gunners’ 22-year unbeaten record aaginst the Merseyside side.

Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 24 home matches against Everton in all competitions, winning all but four of those since a 2-1 loss at Highbury Stadium in January 1996.

Iwobi, who shone in Arsenal’s victory over Vorskla in the Europa League game last week Thursday was introduced in the 69th minute to replace Aubameyang, although he didn’t score a goal for his efforts
