Leave Man U for good Donny Van De Beek warned!

Donny Van De Beek  has been told to seek greener pasture outside the Old Trafford if he is to keep his career on track.

Former player Rafael van der Vaart who made the call, noted that Donny van de Beek is “too good” to be sat on the substitutes bench and “needs” to leave Manchester United in a bid to find regular first-team football.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who joined United from Ajax last summer for a reported £35 million, has struggled to make an impact under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in his first season at Old Trafford.

In fact, Van de Beek has made just four Premier League starts since penning a five-year deal with the Reds – a stat that has brought concerns from many, including former player Rafael van der Vaart.

Van der Vaart not only suggested Manchester United could be a “step too high” for the 24-year-old midfielder but he also claimed a move to Borussia Dortmund would have been “better” for him.

“Manchester United could be a step too high for Van de Beek,” Van der Vaart told ESPN.

“If nobody leaves United during the summer, he is going to need to get lucky to break into their starting eleven.

“He is much too good to remain sat on the bench for two seasons. He needs to get regular playing time soon.”

Van de Beek, who scored 10 goals in 36 appearances in all competitions during his final season at Ajax, was close to signing for Real Madrid before joining United, according to reports.

But things have yet to work out for the player, although there is plenty of time to change things around.

“He is still young, but the time is flying past. Joining a club like Borussia Dortmund would have been better for him.” Van der Vaart added.

“Donny was a perfect fit for Ajax’s system, but he does not fit in at United.”

Just days before Van de Beek signed a deal to join Manchester United, a delighted Van der Vaart was insistent that the transfer was a good move for both parties.

“Donny deserves this transfer so much,” he told NOS.

“He has played excellent for Ajax. And Manchester United really need this kind of player in their team. This transfer is fantastic for us [Dutch people] too. We are all going to follow him now. This move is so deserved.”
