Leeds, C/Palace eye S/Wednesday youngster Osaze Urhoghide

 

Sheffield Wednesday youngster Osaze Urhoghide is attracting Premier League interest.

Football League World says Leeds, Watford, and Crystal Palace are tracking Urhoghide.

The 20-year-old centre-back has made eight first-team appearances for Wednesday this season, including six in February for which he won the club’s Player of the Month award.

Leeds have geared their recruitment to adding to their under-23 squad in recent windows, including acquiring the likes of Sam Greenwood, Joe Gelhardt, and Cody Drameh.

Osaze it will be recalled  impressed on trial at Championship club Sheffield Wednesday, where he would go on to sign a contract with the club.

He went onto make his first team debut in the FA Cup third round tie against Brighton & Hove Albion, keeping a clean sheet in a 1-0 win.

He made national headlines with an infectious post-match interview, which was shared by the likes of Gary Lineker and Peter Crouch on Twitter and viewed over 3.5 million times.On 4 June 2020, he extended his stay a further season by signing a new contract until 2021.

He would break back into the team under Neil Thompson and his form would win him the clubs February 2021 player of the month. In March 2021, Osaze started to attract interest from other clubs, with Leeds United, Crystal Place, Watford and Club Brugge all reportedly interested in the defender.
