Leeds keeper Meslier breaks Premier League record

Leeds United goalkeeper, Illan Meslier, broke a Premier League record after their 0-0 draw with Manchester United.

Meslier has broken a 13-year Premier League record to become the youngest goalkeeper to keep 10 clean sheets, reports Yorkshire Live.

At 21 years and 54 days old, Meslier beats former Manchester City stopper Joe Hart by over 100 days to become the youngest player to achieve the feat.

His tenth clean sheet was well-earned, keeping out Manchester United to ensure Leeds earned a point at Elland Road on Sunday.

Meslier’s nine other shutouts came against Chelsea, Southampton, Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion, Burnley, Everton, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Sheffield United.

The fact Meslier has been able to break this record shows the faith Marcelo Bielsa has placed in the young Frenchman this season.
