Legacy Volleyball Championship: Tournament enters crucial stage

Teams continue their battle for supremacy at the ongoing Legacy Volleyball Championship holding at the Teslim Balogun Stadium as host remains unbeaten in all their matches as the tournament enters crucial stage.

The Legacy female team defeated Unity 3-0 victory, while Chariot C3 United fought well in the explosive tie against Dynamic with the Chariot side claiming a 3-2 win.

The Captain of the Chariot C3 United, Esther Godwin told NationSport that, “We came out in a very good fight and we won gallantly, we didn’t have enough time to train for the match because my team mate were not available to train which really affected us a little bit but I thank God we still came out Victorious.”

In the encounter involving the male team of Chariot and Legacy, it was the host team that laughed last after a convincing 3-0 win.

For the skipper of Chariot male team, Balogun Olushola, the lost to Legacy has helped them to garner some experience. “We lost 3-0 to the host team, although we gave them a tough time but this is the first time Chariot C3 is participating in a big tournament like this, we give kudos to the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for the hospitality and coordination in this competition, they really did well this time,” he said.

Coach of Legacy, Olanrewaju Edward lauded the team coordination and management, while eyeing the coveted prize at the grand finale. “It has just been team work and coordination that has made my players performed well. We have actually lost no match for now but our goal is to come, play and get the prize,” Olanrewaju said.
