Nigeria International Wilfred Ndidi has expressed contrasting emotions after his side, Leicester City were held to a goalless draw in an English Premier League game against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the King Power Stadium yesterday.

Ndidi who only returned to the Foxes squad just 11 days ago and didn’t feature in pre-season because of international duties with Nigeria at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations was included in the starting line up by manager Brendan Rodgers.
After the game, the defensive midfielder wrote on social media how happy he was to be back at the King Power Stadium but added that he was disappointed that the Foxes were unable to make a winning start to their Premier League campaign.

The combative midfielder helped the Super Eagles finish third in the 2019 AFCON and was
Subsequently given an extended holiday and missed the start of the Foxes’ pre-season.
Ndidi’s compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho who was left out of Nigeria’s 2019 AFCON squad was an unused substitute in yesterday’s match against Wolves despite posting impressive performances during pre-season games for the Foxes.
Leicester were saved by VAR as the new technology, introduced to the Premier League for the first time this season, controversially ruled out a Leander Dendoncker goal in the second half of a forgettable match at the King Power Stadium.
City controlled the game for long periods but struggled to create any clear-cut chances and walked off the pitch thankful for the referees’ decision at VAR headquarters in Stockley Park.
