Leicester back for defensive target Tah

Leicester City are back for Bayer Leverkusen centre back Jonathan Tah, a player they also targeted last summer.

Tah, 25, was identified by Brendan Rodgers as a player who could partner Caglar Soyuncu at the heart of the Foxes’ defence.

But despite their interest, a deal was never done and Tah remains with the Bundesliga side. However, a move for Tah could still happen.

That is according to SportBILD’s Christian Falk (via SportWitness), who says Leicester continue to track the German.

Additionally, he stated a reduction to his price tag could make the deal more feasible in the next transfer window.

He said: “Tah to Leicester could now be hot again. There were already movements last summer, and there is somebody at Leicester who knows him from his HSV time and is pushing.

“He has an exit clause, but this is set to reduce by €5m in the summer, which means that, according to our information, he would cost €35m.

“That is still a lot of money in these times. But he is becoming easier to finance, and he would like to take this step now.
