Leicester City keep tabs on Amorim as Rodgers’ possible replacement

Leicester City are said to be keeping tabs on Sporting Club De Portugal manager Ruben Amorim, as a contingency plan in case Brendan Rodgers leaves the club.

Rodgers has been at City for two years, after joining from Celtic in February 2019, and has been widely praised for the job he has done at the King Power Stadium so far.

He led City to a fifth place finish in his first full season at the club in the 2019/20 season, with the Foxes currently sitting in third place in the Premier League, five points clear of fifth placed Chelsea, despite a number of injuries to the squad so far this campaign.

The development at the King Power Stadium has led to speculation that the Northern Irishman could be on the list of some of the Premier League’s ‘big six’ clubs should they make a decision on their manager.

Some reports suggest that Tottenham could turn to Rodgers should they dismiss Jose Mourinho.

It’s not the first time that the manager has been linked with a move away from the King Power Stadium. Arsenal were linked with the City boss before they appointed Mikel Arteta as manager, but Rodgers committed his future to Leicester by signing a new four-year contract.

According to reports in Portugal from both Ojogo and journalist Bruno Andrade, City are keeping a close eye on Amorim
