Lewandowski wakes up next to Champions League trophy

Robert Lewandowski on Monday posted a picture of himself waking up next to the Champions League trophy after Bayern Munich defeated Paris Saint-Germain to clinch their sixth European title in Lisbon.

The Poland international posted the picture to his 18.7 million followers on his Instagram page.

Indeed this has been his season after firing 55 goals and 10 assists in just 47 outings for the Bavarian giants.

It was a night that he won’t forget in a hurry after narrowly missing out with Borussia Dortmund in 2013 when Jurgen Klopp’s side lost to Bayern at Wembley in the final.

No doubt, Lewandowski would feel disappointed with the cancellation of this year’s Ballon d’Or, as he would have been a genuine contender to eclipse Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo for the top gong.
