LINCOLN CITY 2 – 4 EVERTON: Iwobi scores first Toffees goal

Nigeria international Alex Iwobi scored his first goal for Everton after playing for 82 minutes as the Toffees saw off hard fighting Lincoln City 4-2 in tonight’s EFL Cup.’

Iwobi headed in the ball from six yards out following a Cenk Tosun’s knockdown in the 81st minute before making way for Theo Walcott a minute later.

Everton will face Sheffield Wednesday in the next round of the competition.

Richarlison’s thumping header into the roof of the net from Lucas Digne’s inviting cross gave Everton the fourth goal in the six-goal thriller.

The Toffees had fallen behind in the first minute but equalised through a stunning Digne free-kick.

Gylfi Sigurdsson gave Marco Silva’s side a second-half lead before they were pegged back by Bruno Andrade’s fierce volley.
