Liverpool beat Chelsea to win Super Cup
Liverpool has won the UEFA Super Cup for the fourth time after beating Chelsea 5-4 on penalties at the Vodafone Arena in Istanbul on Wednesday night.
The match went into penalties after ending 2-2 in extra time.
It was Tammy Abraham who missed his spot-kick which was saved by Liverpool keeper Adrian kept to secure victory for the Champions League winners.
Chelsea had taken the lead in the first half through Olivier Giroud’s clinical strike but Sadio Mane scored twice to give Liverpool the lead.
Jorginho’s spot-kick took the game to penalties, where Liverpool triumphed.
