Liverpool Fans fume over Fabinho latest setback

Many Liverpool fans were livid over reports that Fabinho will miss Saturday’s Merseyside derby against Everton at Anfield.

The 27-year-old was absent from Thursday’s training session as the Reds prepared to overturn their dismal recent Premier League form, and The Athletic’s James Pearce has since relayed via Jurgen Klopp’s press conference that the Brazilian will not be available against the Toffees.

Fabinho has been deputising at centre-back due to their catastrophic injury crisis, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all out with season-ending injuries.

Typically a defensive midfielder, the Brazil international has played just three times in his natural position this season, and 14 of those outings have been at centre-half.

With this in mind, supporters were incensed by Fabinho’s possible absence in what will be a seismic encounter for the red side of Stanley Park, making their feelings clear to Watch LFC on Twitter.

“He obviously wasn’t fit to come back for the one game he played since injury. What’s going on with the medical side here?”

“We are gonna be in for a hell of a shock when we realise the only reason we looked a threat the other day upfront was because Leipzig play 3 at the back leaving so much room on the wings”
