Liverpool prepare £82m offer to end contract stalemate

Liverpool are ready to make Mo Salah their top earner with a massive £82million offer to end the contract stalemate.

The Egyptian international’s current Anfield deal expires in the summer of 2023, sparking rumours of an exit from the club

But owners FSG are now said to have realised that Salah’s is a special case and the Liverpool forward deserves a huge pay packet to reflect his outstanding performances for the Reds.

A Football Insider source said that club bosses want to end the contract uncertainty with an agreement before the January window opens.

They are said to be preparing a package worth £350,000-a-week plus bonuses that would comfortably make Salah the highest paid player on the club’s books.

Salah reportedly wants a three-year extension, which would see him earn £82million over the whole contract.

FSG have already handed big-money deals to Alisson, Virgil van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson.

Salah is said to want to end his career with the Reds, with the proposed extension taking him through to the age of 34.
