Liverpool restore seven points lead over Arsenal after 2-1 win vs Wolves
Liverpool reclaimed their seven-point lead over Arsenal with a 2-1 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers in Sunday’s Premier League clash.
The Reds entered the match under pressure to secure all three points after Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Leicester City on Saturday, courtesy of Mikel Merino’s brace.
Mohamed Salah extended his remarkable scoring run, doubling Liverpool’s lead and taking his tally to 23 league goals this season.
The Egyptian has now found the net in six consecutive games under Arne Slot.
His goal against Wolves also marked his 101st Premier League strike at Anfield, equaling Wayne Rooney’s record at Old Trafford. Only Thierry Henry (114 at Highbury) and Sergio Agüero (106 at the Etihad Stadium) have scored more at a single venue in the competition’s history.

Liverpool’s early pressure paid off in the 15th minute when Luis Díaz bundled the ball home to open the scoring.
The Reds were awarded a penalty, which Salah confidently converted in the 38th minute to make it 2-0.

Wolves pulled one back in the 67th minute as Matheus Cunha received a pass, feinted a shot on the edge of the box, and curled a brilliant left-footed strike into the net.
