Liverpool VS Chelsea: Moses in contention to face Reds as Sarri predicts tough clash

Nigeria international Victor Moses maybe handed a starting shirt when Chelsea confront Liverpool in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup Third Round clash at Anfield, if the words of manager Maurizio Sarri are anything to go by.

The Chelsea boss dropped the hint while addressing newsmen on Monday, even though he declined to mention the players that would be considered.

“Maybe I will have to change 11 players, maybe only five,” said Sarri.

“They have one day’s rest more than us and I want to see the picture of the situation when we train
tomorrow (Tuesday),” he continued.

Sarri’s comments would be a welcome development for Moses to impress the Italian if given a look in.

Since taking charge of the Stamford Bridge side this season, Sarri has opted for Brazilian international Willian and Spanish forward Pedro in the wing-back role as against Moses who enjoyed regular action under former coach Antonio Conte.

Meanwhile Sarri has predicted a tough match against Jurgen Klopp’s team who currently hold a 100 per cent record in the present EPL campaign.

“They are a step forward of us at this moment,” Sarri said in a press conference ahead of the Carabao
Cup clash with Liverpool.

“We have to play against a very, very good team, who has worked with the same coach for three years.
