Lockdown special: Djokovic gets impressive hair cut from wife Jelena

Novak Djokovic seemed pretty satisfied after his wife Jelena cut his hair amid the coronavirus lockdown.

Djokovic, the world number one who was yet to lose a match this season before the tour was suspended until mid-July due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is currently residing in Spain.

And with his hair in need of a trim, he gave Jelena the responsibility and was happy with the end result, saying ‘Not bad!’, as he showed it off to his 7.2 million Instagram followers.

Posted on both his and Jelena’s Instagram account, she captioned her post: ‘From caveman to my man.’

Jelena was last week shamed with a ‘False Information’ badge by Instagram for spreading 5G conspiracy theories surrounding the coronavirus, after sharing a 10-minute video which focuses on the theory.

Meanwhile, a host of top men’s and women’s players are participating in the virtual Madrid Open this week, as they attempt to keep fans engaged with players facing off on the Tennis World Tour video game.

Djokovic however is not participating, and instead has in recent weeks been planning ways in which tennis’ top stars can help those in need during the current lockdown.

As president of the ATP Player Council, Djokovic suggested plans for players in the top-50 to help those lower-ranked players who are potentially struggling for income.

However, World No 3 Dominic Thiem dismissed this proposal, saying that players should be able to choose where and how they spend their own money.

In addition, Roger Federer last week proposed merging the men’s and women’s tennis tours, which gained traction and support amongst others such as Rafael Nadal and Billie Jean King.

Tennis players around the world have been without action since the beginning of March, with both the French Open and Wimbledon already postponed and cancelled respectively, with doubts about August’s US Open too.
