London scan knocks Simon out of World Cup

 

Nigeria forward Moses Simon has finally been ruled out of the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia after
result of the scan conducted in London revealed he will be out for four weeks.

The result is a confirmation of the earlier scan conducted on the Gent of Belgium Winger in Portharcourt and Abuja before the team departed to London on Wednesday.

“He felt terribly bad upon receiving the news but what can he do? He has accepted his fate and has
wished the team the best of luck as they head for the World Cup,” an official told Sportinglife.ng.

The scan was carried out on Thursday with the result released today.

Simon sustained a thigh injury during one of the team’s training in Nigeria and was ruled out of theFIFA World Cup by head coach Gernot Rohr who later changed his mind to have the player do another scan in London.

With Simon now out, only two more players are expected to be dropped by head coach Gernot Rohr after
Saturday’s friendly against England at the Wembley Stadium.
