Low Key and Special! Pickford weds sweetheart in ripped jeans

 

England and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford tied the knot with his childhood sweetheart in a legal ceremony wearing ripped jeans and a baseball cap.

The World Cup hero, 25, married his other half Megan Davison, 23, in a registry office in Crewe, Cheshire accompanied by their son Arlo, one, and only five guests in attendance.

Just 25 minutes later, the couple emerged as newlyweds with their nearest and dearest while their friends took photos of the pair on their phones.

An onlooker told The Sun: ‘They didn’t dress to impress. It looked like they were out shopping. It sure wasn’t Premier League! After the photos, the whole wedding party got in a people-carrier and left.’

The source added that Jordan and Megan wanted a ‘low-key’ day to mark becoming husband and wife.

It was previously reported that the couple were originally planning on tying the knot in May in a romantic Maldives ceremony later this summer.

A source told the newspaper: ‘Jordan and Megan have been engaged for quite a while. He proposed just before his heroics at the World Cup in 2018.

A source previously said that Everton star Jordan is expected to head to Las Vegas for his stag party, joined by some of his England team-mates such as Kieran Trippier and Kyle Walker.

 

The wedding comes just weeks before the 2020 European Football Championships, which will see England play their first group games at Wembley Stadium.

While manager Gareth Southgate is yet to announce his squad for the tournament, Jordan is expected to feature.

Megan and Jordan, who live together in Altrincham, Cheshire, have been dating since she was 14 and he was 16 after meeting at school.

They appeared to announce their engagement when Megan was sported wearing a gorgeous engagement ring during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The couple announced that they had welcomed their son Arlo together in February of last year.

They met as pupils at St Robert of Newminster Catholic School, Washington, in Tyne and Wear.

Instagram regular Megan often shares loved up snaps of them together in their mansion located in Cheshire’s so-called ‘golden triangle’.

Her partner has been described as the most expensive goalkeeper in British history and rakes in £90,000 a week at Everton.
