Lukaku ‘believes he still has unfinished business’ at Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku is keen to return to Chelsea as he believes he has unfinished business at Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku first joined Chelsea in August 2011 from Anderlecht in a deal worth £18million and could be set for a sensational return to the club this summer.

However, Chelsea are yet to secure the 28-year-old’s signature as Inter have rejected two of their offers – including a bid of £85m that included Marcos Alonso.

The Blues want a new centre forward ahead of next season — with the Inter Milan hitman viewed as the most desirable target by club recruitment staff.

The 28-year old is admired by manager Thomas Tuchel – who is looking to win his first Premier League title in the 2021-2022 season.

Since the Belgian arrived at the San Siro for £73m in 2019, he has scored an incredible 64 goals in 95 appearances across all competitions.

As a result, Tuchel believes he could be a good addition to the squad that won the Champions League and finished inside the top four last season.

He also believes Lukaku will hit the ground running – unlike £47.5m signing Timo Werner, who struggled in his first season with the club.

According to The Sun, Lukaku is interested in returning to West London as he is eager to prove his worth to the Chelsea fans.

Lukaku – who joined the Blues as an 18-year-old from Anderlecht – struggled to make his mark with Chelsea and was eventually sold to Everton in 2014 for £28m.

During his time at the club he managed just 10 Premier League appearances and started just one game before being cast out.

However, given Lukaku’s rise to stardom following his Chelsea exile and Roman Abramovich’s clear desire to bring him in this summer, the 28-year-old knows he will be valued at the club.
