Madu wants Rangers to fight to the end

Enugu Rangers’ Chiamaka Madu has admonished his teammates not to be deterred by their inability to secure the maximum points against Salitas of Burkina Faso in a CAF Confederation Cup tie last weekend.
The Flying Antelopes needed the three points to brighten their chances of picking one of the two tickets to the quarter final stage but they could only settle for a share of the spoils after playing a man down from the 28th minute of the encounter due to the expulsion of Semiu Liadi.
Madu who has featured in all but one of Gbenga Ogunbote’s side games this season in the league and in the second tier club competition told SportingLife that they must fight until the end when all options are closed before giving up.
“It was not the result we expected in Ouagadougou but we still got a result that still gave us a chance to go into the next game with the optimism that they could get a quarter final ticket,” Madu told SportingLife.ng.
“We played over 60 minutes with a man down and if it were to be another team, they could have given up because the pressure was much in the second half but we were able to hold on and got something out of the tie. We have a game more against CS Sfaxien and we should be targeting a good home win.
“We will then wait on Salitas to do be as professional as possible against Etoile du Sahel. With the way football is going these days no one can predict the outcome of games before they are played.”
Rangers are third in Group B with five points from five games and are behind CS Sfaxien(10 points) who are already through to the last eight and Etoile du Sahel who have seven points from five games also.
