Manchester City are leading the race to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, according to AS.
After previously meeting with the 26-year-old’s representatives in January, City are expected to return to their search for a midfielder this summer, and Guimaraes remains one of the names high up on their wishlist.

A release clause in his contract allows him to be signed for a fee of €115 million, but it is reported that the Magpies could be willing to negotiate to as low as €80m, with the club required to offload players to help remain aligned with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.
Liverpool also have Guimaraes on their radar as they continue the search for a marquee midfield signing of their own, but the report indicates that Man City have the advantage.
