Man City prepared to sell Raheem Sterling this summer

Manchester City have placed Raheem Sterling up for sale, as the Citizens attempt to raise the funds required to sign both Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish this summer.

Pep Guardiola’s side are said to keen to complete a double swoop for Kane and Grealish in the current market but will need to sell some first-team players to afford the deals.

According to The Athletic, the Premier League champions have made Sterling available for transfer despite the attacker impressing for England at this summer’s European Championship.

The 26-year-old scored three times and registered one assist in seven appearances for the Three Lions at Euro 2020 but found it difficult to show his best form at club level last term.

The attacker only has two years left to run on his contract at the Etihad Stadium but would still command a high transfer fee due to his standing in the game.

Sterling has scored 114 goals and registered 87 assists in 292 appearances for Man City since joining the club from Liverpool in the summer of 2015 for a fee in the region of £50m.
